About Us
Community Partnership is about building relationships and partnership to facilitate positive change; it is about designing new ways to use resources to help children, families and neighborhoods; it is about addressing community issues in a holistic manner; and it is about committed staff and community volunteers who combine imagination, vision, creativity and hard work to build strong communities.
We work in 21 counties in Southwest Missouri, addressing areas such as the increasing rate of domestic violence, child abuse and neglect, and abuse of illegal substances, as well as prescription medication. We partner with law enforcement to reduce the presence of gangs, with schools to reduce the number of kids failing, and with neighborhoods to reduce crime and illegal activity while empowering the residents who live there. We work with families and childcare professionals to help them provide activities for kids that encourage early brain development. Our six collaboratives – Environment, Housing, Education, Health, Transportation and Senior Link – meet monthly to look at issues and solutions that will benefit our community. Pre-schoolers to seniors benefit from our diverse programming efforts – all dedicated to making our communities, and the people within them, stronger.
Of course, we have not done this in isolation. As the Community Impact Affiliate for United Way of the Ozarks, our efforts and successes have been the product of collaborations and partnerships, where expertise, resources and a passion for the cause have been shared for the greater good.
While we may never see the final result of our many prevention efforts, we believe that person by person, issue by issue, solution by solution, and community by community, we can create something long lasting; something of great value. All of us have a role to play; the job is simply too big for any single sector or agency alone.
