Drug-Free Communities
The Drug-Free Communities grant is designed to decrease alcohol, tobacco, and drug use among residents of Springfield/Greene County. In addition to providing education and prevention information to parents, employers, neighborhood associations, churches, and youth throughout the community, the grant provides special opportunities for students at Reed and Study Middle Schools to develop service learning and leadership projects.
We are in the 10th and final year of this federal grant. Community in-kind support is significant (over 150% of grant funds), and grant success would not be possible without the generosity of local businesses and volunteers.
