Community Partnership of the Ozarks’ Tool Library
is collaborating with local partners to bring a Fix-It Fair to Springfield. This model is used internationally and brings together volunteers with “fixing” skills and people who have broken items. The free event is designed to promote sustainability by repairing items, but also to empower and build community by sharing expertise.
WHEN & WHERE?
The second-ever local Fix-It Fair will take place Saturday, June 3, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Midtown Carnegie Branch Library
located at 397 E. Central. Fixers will be on hand to repair bicycles, clothing, gadgets and more. There is no fee to participate and support is provided by the Midtown Library and Queen City Beard and Mustache Federation
The Springfield Tool Library, a program of Community Partnership of the Ozarks, lends more than 100 DIY, gardening and home-repair tools to members. Annual household membership fees are only $20. Membership is not required to participate in the Fix-It Fair.
The Tool Library is the only program of its kind in the state and one of approximately 75 tool lending programs in the country. For more information, to complete a membership application or to donate tools, please visit cpozarks.org
