This four-week interactive program examines personal money beliefs and how those can help or hinder you in reaching your financial goals. A portion of the program focuses on developing a workable budget and setting a family savings goal.
C.A.S.H. Specialized Tracks: Two-week classes that are facilitated by experts in that particular field and were designed with the help of former participants.
Build Wealth as a Single Mom
Making ends meet can be even more challenging when you only have one income to rely on. Through this track participants will learn how to organize and prioritize as well as creatively use resources to make their financial dreams a reality.
Use Credit Cards Wisely
This track will teach participants how to use credit cards as a tool to attain their financial goals rather than hinder them. Participants will learn how to choose the best credit card for their needs, read credit card statements, use credit cards wisely and interact with credit card companies to ensure they are getting the most out of their service.
Choose Car Insurance That Best Fits Your Needs
This track will help participants understand which factors determine the amount of insurance they need on a vehicle, teach them to how to read and understand their policy, give them tools to negotiate the best rate, and show them how to comparatively shop for insurance.
Utilize Community Resources as You Strive For Your Financial Goals
Many families do not utilize available community resources that might help them reach self-sufficiency. This track will give families an overview of available resources, discuss how to locate resources and show how to navigate the application process for many resources.
Make the Most of Your Credit Report
Participants will learn how to read a credit report, contact creditors to make changes if necessary and improve their credit score. They will learn how they can utilize their credit report to protect themselves against fraud and to reach financial goals.
Build Assets on a Fixed Income
On a tight budget, it can at times be hard to imagine finding the extra money to build assets. In this track, participants will learn how to identify even the smallest leaks in their budget and identify how this money can then be used to build prosperity. Participants will discover simple ways to add to their income and discuss how to utilize banking products that will give them the biggest return for their circumstances.
Choose an Investment Counselor
Participants will learn about specific services an investment counselor can provide. They will discuss questions to ask when shopping for an investment counselor including fees, accreditation and career history.
Get Out of Debt and Build Prosperity
When you are in the midst of debt, building wealth can seem like a distant dream. In this track, participants will learn which bills to pay off first, how to work with creditors, and when to begin saving vs. simply paying off debts. They will also be introduced to credit counseling agencies that can help them navigate the debt management process.
Choose a Financial Institution
Choosing a financial institution can be a daunting task. This track will help participants identify the banking products that will best meet their needs and then comparatively shop at financial institutions to determine where they can access those products with the lowest amount of fees and the biggest returns.
Choose Home or Rental Insurance That is Right for You
Protecting your home or household assets can shelter a family against financial devastation. In this track, participants will learn how to comparatively shop for insurance. They will learn how to read their insurance policy as well as how to document items for quick processing should a disaster occur.
Select Life Insurance That Meets Your Needs
To buy or not to buy? In this track, participants will learn the basics about purchasing life insurance. They will compare different types of insurance, identify the one that best fit their needs, and learn about appropriate amounts to purchase based upon situation as well as what life changes should spur an alteration in their life insurance face value.
Choose a Childcare Option That Fits Your Family’s Needs and Budget
Childcare costs can have a huge impact on a family’s financial stability. This track will look at a variety of ways to provide healthy, educational care for your child/children while remaining within your budget.

Finding your way through the myriad of health insurance plans, health plans and health saving accounts can be a daunting task. This track will show participants a variety of options available to help families meet their health care needs and help them determine which bests fits their needs and budget.
Make Sure You Are Getting All of the Tax Deductions Your Family Qualifies for… Including the Earned Income Credit, Child Tax Credit, etc.
This track will help participants understand how to maximize their tax deductions so they are able get more of the money available to them. There will be a special focus on the Earned Income Credit, the Advanced Earned Income Credit, and Child Tax Credit.
Realizing the American Dream
This pre-purchase homebuyer education track will illustrate how to know if participants are ready to buy a home, how to shop for a mortgage lender and a loan, and how to pick a realtor, attorney, title insurance company, home inspector, and property appraiser.
Keeping the American Dream
Once you’ve bought your home, how do you keep it? This post-purchase track will help participants understand how to be a good neighbor, how to budget for unexpected homeownership expenses such as a roof or heating/cooling unit, and how to maintain and improve a home cost effectively.
