Neighborhood-Based Initiatives

Lead & Learn: A neighborhood leadership development program that offers neighborhood associations monthly training and networking opportunities as well as ongoing technical assistance and support. Click here to register for upcoming Lead & Learn events.
Neighborhood Resource Center: The Neighborhood Resource Center has moved! We are now located at 1471 N. Benton; and, as always, we are open to all Springfield neighborhoods. Join us for an Open House on Thursday, October 30th between 4:00pm and 7:00pm.
The Neighborhood Resource Center offers assistance with developing communication materials, a lending library of educational and community resources, and access to copiers and computers with internet access. Volunteers also work regular hours each week to help neighborhoods with projects and events. The Neighborhood Resource Center and its services are made possible through the donation of space by the Midtown Neighborhood Association and Cox North. Call 864-6020 to volunteer or learn more about the Center.

Neighborhood Clean-ups: We act as the sponsoring agency for neighborhoods that want to apply for city funds for a clean-up and assist those neighborhoods with organizing the event, recruiting and training volunteers, and data collection. E-mail Shirley Sade to learn how your neighborhood can conduct a clean-up.

Neighborhood Night Out (NNO): An annual event sponsored in August by Caring Communities, neighborhood associations, the Springfield Police Department, the Springfield-Greene County Park Board and neighborhood schools and churches. Focused on safety and crime prevention, NNO gives neighbors a chance to meet in the park and get to know each other. Call 888-2020 to find out how your neighborhood can participate in NNO this year.
