Our Community One Story
At the end of a long, tiring day, most of us return to a warm, safe place called home. However, there are more than 700 men, women and children, who have no home to call their own - they are Springfield's homeless.
They are facing some of life's largest challenges: physical and sexual abuse; drug and alcohol abuse; mental and physical disabilities and financial devastations to name a few. However, the best way to learn about homelessness is to listen to the experts. That is, those who have had the experience of living without a permanent home.
Our Community, One Story offers you a glimpse into the life of a person who is homeless - a veteran, a young adult, a growing family and an individual with a disability - each exemplifying just a few of the complex challenges facing so many in our community.
Community Partnership of the Ozarks invites you to learn more about homelessness and to join us as we work to address the needs of men, women and children who are struggling to find their place in our community.
