PIRC – Parent Information and Resource Center

The US Department of Education, Office of Innovation and Improvement, funds over 60 PIRC’S nationwide. The purpose of the PIRC program is to give parents, schools and organizations working with families the training, information and technical assistance they need to understand how to help children succeed in school. Services provided by Community Partnership include providing training and technical assistance to childcare providers and families interested in learning to develop appropriate social and emotional skills young children need before transitioning into kindergarten. We are available to:

  • Train childcare providers on using the DECA assessment tool.
  • Provide technical assistance for childcare providers supporting social/emotional development.
  • Provide workshops for parents and childcare providers on the following topics: Social/Emotional Development. Building Family Relationships, Appropriate Behavior Expectations and a variety of school issues including No Child Left Behind.
  • Develop and support activities for school readiness and transitions.
