School Linked Programs
Friday Night Fever: A drug/alcohol free event with music, games, snacks and door prizes, offered several times a year on Friday nights for both Reed and Study Middle school students.
After-School Clubs/Programs: We support a wide variety of after school and summer programs/activities in Caring Communities schools.
Caring Connections: Family involvement events at our schools that offer dinner together for families, an educational program for parents, and a fun and interactive parent/child activity. Free meal, child care and door prizes are always provided at each Caring Connection.
Parents of Pre-Schoolers (POPS): Family nights at Shady Dell Early Childhood Center that are designed to bring families into the Center and encourage the importance of early parental involvement.
Tutoring/Mentoring: We support these programs by recruiting and connecting volunteers and by providing snacks and supplies. At Reed and Study, we have implemented an Invisible Mentoring program, which promotes school bonding, school attachment and caring relationships with adults. We also promote mentoring programs offered by the Boy Scouts, the Girl Scouts, the YMCA and Big Brothers/Big Sisters.
MAP Support: To help the schools during MAP testing, we provide nutritious snacks for students and support parent involvement activities focused on preparation for MAP testing. We also work with churches and businesses to include our MAP support slogan, "Many are Praying for our Students," in bulletins and on marquees.
Food for Thought Backpack Program: An Ozarks Food Harvest Program, we help implement Food for Thought in seven of our schools. Food for Thought provides a backpack filled with nutritious, easy to prepare food for students to take home each weekend during the school year.
