Gang Task Force

The Greene County Task Force on Gangs and Youth Violence (“Task Force”) formed in the mid-1990’s to address an influx of gang members from cities with establish gang activity. Since then, the Task Force has continued to implement strategies to keep from establishing chronic gang neighborhoods in the community, coordinate healthy alternative activities for youth and adults, and educate the community on how to help our youth reach their full potential.

The Task Force is currently focused on increasing community awareness of hybrid gangs and early gang prevention/intervention, as well as mobilizing the community to become actively engaged as part of the solution.

One of the strategies of the Gang Task Force is reducing the presence of graffiti in the Springfield Area.  If you own a building or house that has been tagged, learn more about how we can help remove graffiti at no cost to you.
